RENA DEHNE -
I started my love for the river and pursuing the connection of Mother Earth when I was a young child with my father taking us out on camping outings throughout my youth. I then professionally studied the skill sets needed to live and to continuously redefine my connection with Mother Earth as a student at Algonquin College under the Outdoor Adventure Diploma. Through this Diploma I engulfed myself in the world of whitewater and other outdoor pursuits. Thereafter I moved to Australia and worked as an Outdoor Educator for six years, mainly focusing on whitewater expeditions with youths. Helping facilitate the growth of themselves, the community we built in the bush and the connect we have with the natural environment. I have since ran my own personal expeditions throughout North America, Europe and Australia. I have also passionately pursued building connections with the communities in which I reside in. I have done this by working jobs that have focused on connecting with the local communities, such as the Alberta Junior Forest Rangers where we did work in exchange for educational days concerning jobs within the natural resources. My love and connection for the rivers, being in Mother Nature and building local communities is what drives me forward every day.
